iPECS 9020: PHONE QUICK START GUIDE
1. Ring/Message Indicator: Flashes when receiving a new call or you have a new message waiting.
2. LCD Display: Displays your extension number, time and caller information.
3. Handset
4. Speaker: Speaker used for Hands-free.
5. Dialpad: Use to dial a number, select a menu item, or input a value.
6. Speakerphone button: Enables Hands-free mode, lights up when active.
7. Volume control button: Use to adjust Ring, Headset, Handset, and Speaker volume.
8. Flexible buttons: Assigned as Line or Quick Dial numbers. LIP-9020 has 10-flexible buttons.
9. Fixed buttons:
Menu button: Accesses the menu for display and changes to the IP Phone configuration.
Transfer (PGM) button: Transfers the current active call. The button also accesses the User Program menu or switches the dial pad input mode (ABC, abc, or 123).
Directory button: Accesses your private or public directory for speed dialing.
Speed button: Use to assign your speed dial numbers.
Message button: When the button lights up it indicates you have a message, use to access your Voice Mailbox.
DND (Do Not Disturb) button: Use to activate DND so that your phone will not ring. The button also deletes the last character of an input in the menu mode.
Headset button: When using a headset, this button toggles the headset state. Button illuminates red when active.
Hold (Save) button: Use to place a call on Hold. Also, use to access a held call. In menu mode, it saves your inputs.
Mute button: Toggles audio from the microphone to the connected party on and off.
10. Navigation key
Left: Use to select the previous group of Soft Keys when ◄ appears in the bottom-left of the LCD.
Right: Use to select the next group of Soft Keys when ► appears in the bottom-right of the LCD.
Up: Scrolls through the phone’s menu options upward.
Down: Scrolls through the phone’s menu options downward. Use to see the next screen of Flexible buttons.
11. OK Key: Selects the highlighted choice when navigating through a menu.
12. Soft Keys: Soft Keys are interactive, changing function based on the status of the phone.
Making an External Call
1. Lift the Handset or for hands-free just dial 0 for next available line.
2. Dial the number.
To Make an Intercom (Internal) call
1. Pick up the handset or press the SPEAKER button for hands-free.
2. Dial the station number or press the pre- programmed Flexible Key.
To Place a Call-back
1. When an extension is busy you can press the MSG soft key and hang up the phone.
2. When that extension becomes free you will receive a ring back, when you pick up the handset it will ring the extension back.
Utilising SPEAKER (Hands-free)
1. When on a call press the SPEAKERbutton then hang-up the handset this will initiate hands-free. The Speaker button will be lit green when active.
2. To take the caller off hands-free simply pickup the handset.
Note: The call will disconnect if you press the lit SPEAKER button while the handset is down in the cradle.
Announced Transfer
1. While on a call Press the TRANSFER button (this will automatically put the caller on hold).
a. Dial the number to transfer to (including 0 if the transfer is for an external number)
b. OR press the pre-programmed Flexible Key.
2. To complete the transfer, simply hang up the handset.
3. To cancel the transfer, press TRANSFER button which will hang-up the call to that party and return you to the held call.
Answering a Call
1. If phone is ringing then you can pick up handset or press SPEAKER button for hands-free.
Group Call Pickup
1. Lift the handset and Dial * * to pick up the longest waiting call in that pickup group.
Hold/UnHold a Call
1. When on a call press the HOLD button.
2. To take the call off Hold press the flashing Line Key or the HOLD button again.
Volume
1. Use the - + Volume keys to adjust:
· Handset: Pickup phone.
· Speaker: Press the Speaker button, or perform while on Speaker.
- Ringer volume: While phone is ringing.
Program Personal Directory/Speed Dial
1. Press the TRANSFER button.
2. Press the SPEED button.
3. Display will show next available speed bin number from 000~019 (Take note of this Speed Bin Number).
4. Press the HOLD button (or dial desired speed bin number).
5. Dial 0 for outside line.
6. Enter the external number to store. i.e. 0734567899
7. Press the HOLD button.
8. Enter the name of the Speed Dial using the Dialpad.
9. Use the DND button to delete any errors and the RIGHT Navigation key for spaces.
10. Press the HOLD button to save.
11. Press SPEAKER button to exit.
Unannounced Transfer
1. While on a call Press the TRANSFER button (this will automatically put the caller on hold).
a. Dial the number to transfer to (including 0 if the transfer is for an external number)
b. OR press pre-programmed Flexible Key.
2. To complete the transfer, simply hang up the handset.
Making a Conference Call
1. Dial first party then Press CONF button.
2. Dial the next party (external (0) or extension).
3. Continue above steps until all parties are connected.
4. Press CONF button twice to commence conference call.
5. You can press the VIEW soft key to see all parties connected and can use theVOLUME - + button to scroll through the party list. Press the DELETE soft key to remove the displayed party.
NOTE: If you wish to add another party after commencing the conference, then CONFbutton is only required to be pressed once to add an additional party.
Note: 6 Party conference. Conference stays connected as long as an internal party is connected.
Do Not Disturb
1. Press the DND button to turn on and again to turn off.
NOTE: If an extension is programmed on your Flexible buttons and is set to DND the button will flash red to indicate DND status is set.
To Page
1. For internal and external paging Dial # 0 0
2. OR Dial # 3 for internal only
3. OR Dial #5 for external only
4. Then lift the handset and wait for the tone before announcing your page.
Calling Speed Dial Numbers
1. Lift the handset, press the SPEED button then dial the desired Speed Dial bin number.
2. Alternatively press the DIRECTORY button to access the different speed directories.
1. Private Directory: Personal to your phone.
2. Public Directory: The System Directory.
3. View Station Name: Internal phone names.
4. LDAP Search: Active Directory search.
5. All Search: Search all Directories. Full name to be entered for All Search then press the SEARCH soft key,
NOTE: See Character Entry for entering letters.
3. Press OK button to call.
Call Log
1. Press LOG soft key.
2. Use the VOLUME - + button to scroll through the list.
3. Press the SEND soft key to dial that number.
4. Press SPEAKER button to exit the log.
To Change Intercom Mode
1. Press the TRANSFER button.
2. Dial 1 3 and select:
HANDSFREE MODE (Auto answer after a BEEP tone).
TONE MODE
PRIVATE MODE (Auto Answer but you must pick-up the handset to talk).
3. Press the HOLD button to save.
Changing the Name on your Handset
1. Press the TRANSFER button.
2. Dial 7 4.
3. Use the Dial pad to enter the name.
4. Press the HOLD button to save.
Changing Internal Ring Tone
1. Press the TRANSFER button.
2. Dial 1 1.
3. Dial 01 to 16 to choose the ring tone.
4. Press the HOLD button to save.
Changing External Ring Tone
5. Press the TRANSFER button.
6. Dial 1 2.
7. Dial 01 to 16 to choose the ring tone.
8. Press the HOLD button to save.
System Night Switch (only at the system attendant phone)
This changes the way the telephone system will behave for incoming calls if setup by your technician.
1. Press DND button to bring up a menu.
2. Prompt Select Ring Mode (1-5). Then dial number next to following options:
1. Day (Normal display)
2. Night
3. Timed Ring Mode (set by technician)
4. Auto Ring Mode (set by technician)
5. Scenario – Select Scenario (01-16) – (set by technician)
3. Press the HOLD button to save.
4. Alternately if you have a NIGHT button programmed press it to turn on (light will illuminate) and press again to turn off.
Program System Directory/Speed Dial (from Administration phone)
*NOTE: Complete this step 1st before programming a Speed Dial to a Flexible Button.
1. Press the TRANSFER button.
2. Press the SPEED button.
3. Display will show next available speed bin number from 20000~31999 (Take note of this Speed Bin Number)
4. Press the HOLD button (or dial desired speed bin number).
5. Dial 0 for outside line.
6. Enter the external number to store.
7. Press the HOLD button to save.
8. Enter the name of the Speed Dial using the Dialpad.
9. Use the DND button to delete any errors and the RIGHT Navigation key for spaces.
10. Press the HOLD button to save.
11. Press SPEAKER button to exit.
Program Speed Dial to a Flexible Button
*Note: you will need to have programmed a System or Personal Speed Dial prior to this and you will require the Speed Bin Number.
1. Press the TRANSFER button.
2. Press Flexible Key to program.
3. Press the SPEED button followed by the Speed Bin Number i.e. 20003.
4. Press the HOLD button to save.
5. Press SPEAKER button to exit.
NOTE: The flexible buttons will light up solid red if already programmed and the display will read empty if not programmed.
Program Extensions to a Flexible Button
1. Press the TRANSFER button.
2. Press Flexible Key to program.
3. Dial the extension to program.
4. Press the HOLD button to save.
5. Press SPEAKER button to exit.
NOTE: The flexible buttons will light up solid red if already programmed and the display will read empty if not programmed.
To Erase Flexible Button.
1. Press the TRANSFER button.
2. Press flexible button to program.
3. Press the HOLD button to save.
Call Forwarding Internal
1. Lift the handset and press FORWARD soft key.
2. Dial the number for Call Forward type:
1. UNCONDITION FORWARD: Forward All calls.
2. BUSY FORWARD: Forward Busy calls.
3. NO ANS FORWARD: Forwards calls that are not answered.
4. BUSY/NO ANS FORWARD: Forward Busy and No Answer calls.
5. INCOMING CO OFFNET: System attendant only, if set by technician.
6. REMOTE FWD
3. Dial the Extension or Hunt Group number.
4. Replace the handset.
5. To cancel Call Forwarding lift handset and press FWD soft key then press #.
Call Forwarding External
1. Lift the handset and press FWD soft key.
2. Dial the number for Call Forward type:
1. UNCONDITION FORWARD: Forward All calls.
2. BUSY FORWARD: Forward Busy calls.
3. NO ANS FORWARD: Forwards calls that are not answered.
4. BUSY/NO ANS FORWARD: Forward Busy and No Answer calls.
5. INCOMING CO OFFNET: System attendant only, if set by technician.
6. REMOTE FWD
3. Press the SPEED button.
4. Dial Speed Dial Bin number.
5. Replace the handset.
6. To cancel Call Forwarding lift handset and press FWD soft key then press #.
Voice Mail (VSF)
1. Your Message button will flash red if you have a Voice Mail message.
2. To access dial the Voice Mail number (Typically 7399), or the pre-programmed Flexible Key or press the MESSAGEbutton then dial 3.
3. Enter 4-digit password if prompted (Default is extension number then *, i.e. 100*).
4. Follow the voice prompts to navigate through voice mail, press:
1: New Messages
ð 1: Replay Message
ð 2: Listen to Next Message, also Saves.
ð 3#: Delete Messages
ð 4: Forward Message
ð 5: Call the Sender
2: Saved Messages
8: Set Greeting or Password
1: Edit your Greeting
ð 5: Listen to Current Greeting
ð 7: Record New Greeting
o At the tone, record your new greeting, press # when you have finished.
2: To Edit your Password
